Current Status: Working on a Multi-part story (02/16/2009)

I know you have come here looking to read some wonderful and pithy comments, but I'm afraid that I am all out at the moment. Instead I will tell you something about what I am doing.

Most stories that you hear on the internet are written, scripted and completely worked out. My method is different. I do my podcasts on the inspirational level. When a story makes it's way to my conscious mind, I begin recording.

Once I have a rough draft podcast I wait a couple of days and carefully listen to it. I then set up the microphone and begin again. The second time I look to smooth out the rough edges of the podcast and fill in points that I felt I missed. This second podcast is then edited, music added and I post the result.

If you think that process is strange, you should try being inside a mind is crazy enough to try this. I started out thinking I could do these stories on a regular basis. I have discovered that my muse visits me on an irregular basis. You will find that I am abandoning the idea of Seasons and episodes.

The future Mark's Mysteries podcasts are going to be stories. They may be single episodes or cover several episodes. I really have no idea what the future schedule is, but I am here to tell you that there will be more Mark's Mysteries podcasts. If I promise any more than that, you will be disappointed.

I will be using the Mark's Mysteries blog to reveal what I am doing. When I have my "interludes" I will post links and comments about stories I find.

If you have gotten this far along and you are hoping to read how I created a successful podcast, well, once I do that, I'll try to tell how I did it.

For now I will spend most of my time working with the Artist Susan Van Camp on her art business and on the Dragon Storm RPG. The big secret in this is that Sue and I are an happily married couple. I should probably talk a lot about our cat and dog, but I won't.
